In this cluster, people breed, grow, care for and gather plants, animals and their products, and the financing of these products.  This cluster also includes people who catch, hunt, and trap animal life.  COINS: Animal Scientist, Crop Farmer, Fishing Boat Captain, Forester, Livestock Farmer, Logger, and Soil Conservationist.


Architecture and Construction

People in this field generally design, manage, build and maintain buildings.  Construction workers generally participate in activities such as building houses, buildings or bridges; put in plumbing; fix roads; drive bulldozers.  COINS:  Assembler, Architect, Bricklayer, Carpenter, Electrician, Plasterer, Plumber, Roofer, or Welder.


Arts, A/V Technology, and Communication

The people in this cluster create things to express ideas, thoughts or feelings.  They are also responsible for exhibiting, performing, and publishing multimedia content.  COINS:  Actor, Director, Art Directer, Prodcure, Clothing Designer, Interior Designer, Dancer, Choreographer, Graphic Designer, Journalist, Editor, Musician, and Website Designer.


Business, Management, and Administration

In this cluster, people who are involved in this profession organize, direct, and evaluate functions needed to keep businesses running everyday.  These duties might include making plans, giving directions to other people, selling things, talking to customers, typing various reports and letters, using various technological equipment associated with business, as well as keeping track of money.  COINS: Advertising Executive, Building Manager, Executive Secretary, CEO, Legal Assistant, Research Assistant, Stock Clerk, Supervisor, or a Word Processor.


Education and Training

In this cluster, we find people who enjoy providing education to either children or adults, training, and related learning support such as assisting people find books.  COINS:  Athletic Director, College Faculty, Counselor, Elementary Teacher, Librarian, Principal, Secondary Teacher, Special Education Teacher, Sports Instructor, or a Corporate Trainer.


Finance

Finance is all about planning finances and investments as well as managing banking, insurance, and business accounts.  This includes tracking, loaning, spending, and making money.  COINS:  Accountants, Auditors, Bank Tellers, Credit Managers, Data Entry Keyers, Economists, Financial Manager, Insurance Agents, Loan Officers, and Stockbrokers.


Government and Public Administration

This cluster includes all job that requires executing governmental functions at the local, state, and federal levels.  COINS: Auditor,  City Manager, Court Clerk, Customs, Hazmat Manager, Police Officer, Public Administrator, Quality Control, Traffic Manager, and Urban Planner.


Health Science

In this cluster, people try to prevent illness by providing diagnostic and therapeutic services.  They also take care of people or animals who are sick, provide health information, and support services.  They may do work like: 1) take care of sick people in a hospital or at home 2) give shots 3) make medicine 4) fix teeth 5) run tests in a lab 6) take X-Rays 7)give eye and hearing tests 8) research new medicines and diseases.  COINS:  Chiropractor, Dentist, Dietician, EMT Technician, Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Pharmacist, Physical Therapist, Physician, and Veterinarian.


Hospitality and Tourism

This cluster includes managing resturants and other food services, lodging, attractions, recreation events, and travel-related services.  COINS:  Bartender, Cook, Chef, Fitness Instructor, Food, Beverage, Food Manager, Health Club Manager, Hotel Manager, Janitor, Professional Athlete, and Travel Agent.

 


Human Services

Human service workers provide for families and provide service for basic human needs.  This cluster could include listening to people's problems and trying to help solve them, helping people understand the law as well as cutting or styling hair, and taking care of lawns.  COINS:  Barber, Childcare Worker, Clergy, Cosmetology, Funeral Director, Preschool Worker, Refuse Collector, Gas Station Worker, and Teacher's Assistant.


Information Technology

This cluster includes designing, supporting, and managing hardware, software, multimedia, and systems intergration.  COINS:  Computer Engineer, Computer Programmer, Data Storage Worker, Database Administrator, Graphic Designer, Technical Writer, Website Designer, Writer, and Editor.

 

Law, Public Safety, and Security

This cluster is responsible for providing legal, public safety, protective, and homeland security services.  The law, public safety, and security workers may guard or protect perople or things from danger, including fighting fires.  COINS:  Correctional Officer, Dispatcher, FBI Agent, Firefighter, JForensic Scientist, Lawyer, Judge, Paralegal, Parole Officer, Private Detective, and Security Guard.


Manufacturing

The workers in this cluster are responsible for processing different materials into products that we use in our daily lives, such as clothing, vases, and toys.  COINS:  Apparel Worker, Ceramic Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Forklift Operator, Freight Mover, Inspector, Machinist, Optical Technician, and Tool and Die Maker.


Marketing, Sales, and Service

This cluster is repsonsible for watching how people are spending their money in order to determine how to advertise for certain products.  COINS:  Automotive Clerk, Cashier, Clothes Designer, Fashion Coordinator, Florist, Packing, Purchasing Agent, Stock Clerk, Technical Sales, and Wholesale Buyer.


Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math

In this cluster, people do scientific research to discover, collect, and analyze knowledge.  They use this knowledge to solve problems or invent new things.  They may do work like:  1) try to find a cure for a disease 2) test food for safety 3) improve airplane designs 4) discover ways to stop pollution 5) invent new products or things 6) predict earthquakes.


Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics

In this cluster, people move people or things from one place to another.  They are also responsible for moving goods by road, pipeline, air, rail, and water.  They may do work like:   1) drive a taxi, bus, truck, or train  2)fly an airplane 3) help passengers on an airplane, ship, or train 4)  guide planes from a control tower 5) move boxes and large objects  6) load or take things off a ship.  COINS:  Air Traffic Controller, Aircraft Pilot, Bus Driver, Dispatcher, Bulldozer Operator, Locomotive Operator, Railroad Worker, Sailor or Deckhand, Taxi Driver, and Truck Driver.
